The court of appeal sitting in Kaduna has upheld the verdict of the election tribunal, which nullified the election of spokesman of the Senate, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, and ordered the independent National Electoral Commission to issue certificate of returns to his challenger, Senator Biodun Olujimi.

Adeyeye and Olujimi, candidates of the All Progressive Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party respectively, had contested for the Ekiti South Senatorial poll held on Febuary 23 with INEC declaring the former as winner.

The declaration was upturned by the election tribunal which ruled in Senator Olujimi’s favour, a judgement the APC candidate contested at the Appeal Court but on Wednesday suffered similar fate.

Justice Uzor Anyanwu upheld the judgment of the tribunal and ordered INEC to issue certificate of return to Senator Olujimi.
