A man, Okpue Ernest Ifeanyi, who had been planning every detail of his wedding, but was arrested after he was caught at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, bringing 950 grammes of cocaine from Brazil into the country, has begged his fiancee for forgiveness.

Ifeanyi(pictured) was early in the week arrested by operatives of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) alongside four others suspects for being in possession of wraps of cocaine.

While the suspects were paraded before newsmen and fielded questions from reporters, Ifeanyi said he was offered N400,000 to take 59 wraps of cocaine to Nigeria adding that he accepted the offer because he needed money for his traditional wedding scheduled for later in the year.

“I work in a restaurant in Brazil. I sincerely want to get married and have a family. In the process of trying to make more money, I was given 59 wraps of cocaine to take to Nigeria for N400,000. Now I realised I have made a big mistake. I pray my woman will find a place in her heart to forgive me. I feel I’m under a spell,” the 39-year-old suspect explained.
