The bickering between the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, and the Christian Association of Nigeria, Oyo Zone, over a parcel of land at Ayetoro scheme in Oyo town is hotting up.

Oba Adeyemi and CAN are locked up in a battle over the said property with each laying stake to the 96 plots of land.

The latest, according to Punchng.com, was that the Christian body said it is at the receiving end of the monarch’s continued encroachment on the land, alleging him of selling it in piecemeal.

CAN, the paper reported, claimed to have bought the property sixteen years ago and said something to the effect that Oba Adeyemi thought might is right.

“The land is not owned by the CAN in the Atiba Local Government Area, but the entire CAN in Oyo town.

“Our demand is that Oba Adeyemi should leave that land. It is not his land. The land belongs to CAN. The zone paid for it,” it quoted the body’s Director of State Issues and Social Welfare, Bishop Daniel Oluwajimade, as saying.
