Residents of Presidential Hilltop Estate, Abeokuta, Ogun State said they were at variance with ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo over his former residence in the area which he gifted to state government to use as coronavirus isolation centre.

Obasanjo last Friday donated the 32-room building drawing applause for the action.
But senior citizens in the area have expressed their disgust at it, alleging that having isolation centre for the pandemic in their midst would compromise their health and expose them to contracting the disease.
“As elders we have discussed and we have made our position known in the letter which shall be delivered to the office of His Excellency, the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, as soon as possible.
“There is no doubt that siting such an isolation centre in a residential estate is highly inimical and indeed a threat to the health of residents, many of whom are old people, who are more vulnerable to the attack of the dreaded pandemic,” a senior member of the Residents Association told Punchng.com.
