Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has relived the economic hardship his family faced before the table turned as a result of his blossoming football career.

The Lille of French side’s forward in an interview with BeIN Sport told of how his family jumped out of the frying pan to fire after they lost the matriarch saying: “It was very difficult, when I lost my mother, it became tougher after my father lost his job and everything was very hard for us.”

Osimhen said he turned to all sorts, including selling bottle water in Lagos traffic and scavenging for crampons and shoes at the former Olusosun dumpsite in Oregun-Ojota area of Lagos to survive.
