Fraud, conspiracy and secret commission allegation have been laid against Kogi State governor, Idris Wada.

The trail of fraud allegation leveled against Gov. Wada include misappropriation of subsidy Reinvestment and empowerment programme (SURE-P), the local government joint Account, the flood victims fund, UBEC fund, 10 billion from the 20 billion naira bond, the MDG fund among others.

Allegation is rife that the immediate family of Gov. Wada and his cronies including Chief of Staff to the Governor carried out shoddy government contracts as billions of public funds were pocketed in the name of executing contracts.

It is said that the governor is being pilloried for inflating contracts, particularly the Kogi Hotel and Kogi House in Lokoja and Abuja respectively.
The present Chief of staff to the Governor was formerly in the state MDG office where he was also alleged of gross misappropriation of projects fund.

The local government joint account suffered as a result of over interference from Gov. Wada which has left the local government staff receiving only full salary payment for 2 months in the last 3½ years with an average of 10 to 20% monthly salary payment in about same time.

Investigation revealed that there was general dismay over Gov. Wada’s decision to demolish Kogi Hotel while Confluence Beach Hotel is abandoned.
