First Lady Aisha Buhari on Sunday said she was not in the position to deny or confirm her husband’s rumoured marriage.

Mrs. Buhari stated this while speaking to BCC Hausa service.

Instead the responsibility to confirm or deny the rumour lied with those involved in the matter, the first lady said in reference to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster and Management, Sadiya Umar Farouq.

She said, “He (Buhari) is the person rumoured to be planning a marriage, not Aisha Buhari. They (Buhari and Sadiya) are supposed to come out and clear the air.”

The social media was agog last Thursday with news that President Buhari would be marrying Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, on Friday, a report that turned to be false.
