In 2007, Sheik Ja’afar was murdered in cold blood while leading salat (Muslim prayer). Shekau’s call is on the back of proclamation by the minister to make it difficult for Boko Haram members to communicate by blocking their phone lines.

In a trending video of the Boko Haram leader where he spoke in Hausa and Kanuri he ordered the members to attack Pantami.

“I swear to Allah, you are nothing. Initially, we were not bothered about you, but now you have become a slave to the infidels; repent now and become a good Muslim. If you don’t comply from now on, death will come to you, Isa Ali Pantami.

‘‘I call on my brothers in Africa, in Nigeria and everywhere to arise and take steps, what they did to (Sheik) Jafar is little. Anywhere you see Isa Ali Pantami, don’t spare him,” quoted him as saying in the viral video.
