A woman has lost her only child after her 22-year-old son was killed in a brawl in Ovogo community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, and buried by his killer in a pit toilet.
Sources said the deceased identified as Chimnumezi Wokoma (his mother pictured) was a crane operator with a Port-Harcourt construction company, and just returned to Ovogbo to see his parents when he was cut down in his prime by a gang of ‘bad boys’.
It happened that Chimnumezi’s friend’s sister was being harassed by the guys, and he was invited by his friend to broker peace between them.
But before the parley got underway, one member of the opposing side who had thought that Chimnumezi came to fight attacked him with a machete, and continued to hit him until he died.
The attackers were said to have buried the remains of Chimnumezi in a pit toilet to conceal their heinous act. However, they were soon found out after a search party discovered Chimnumezi’s body in a pit toilet close to a dustbin.
According to the deceased’s father: “So the police officers in their intelligence were able to trace the drops of blood to a direction, right at a dustbin, they discovered the legs of a buried corpse.
“They alerted us that they have seen the corpse, so we looked for some young men who tied rope on the remains of my son and dragged it out of the hole, where he has been buried by his killers. Truly the boys killed my son and buried him,” he bemoaned.
