The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has declared a woman, Miss Perebi Nicole Otubo, wanted for allegedly trafficking girls to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) for prostitution.

Otubo is said to be a member of an international human trafficking ring that specialised in trafficking young girls from Nigeria to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) for sexual exploitation.

Her dastardly acts came into the limelight sometimes in 2015, when she was sighted in two videos administering oaths on two Nigerian girls she allegedly forced into prostitution.

The videos of her and the girls who were naked went viral them drawing concerns from several quarters.

While administering the oath, Otubo told one of the girls: “Nobody cheats me Chisom. If you fail to pay me, I shall post this video on Facebook and other social media for people to see. But if you finish paying me, I’ll call you and I’ll delete it. Nobody will see the video except me. Nobody can hide my money. Don’t lie to me. Go and ask others about me. Don’t do anything that will make me touch you. My hands are too ‘strong.’ Make sure you fight and struggle with any guy to collect your money! It’s your money! Whatever I tell you to collect, is what you should collect. Don’t let the man go, except I tell you to let him go!”

According to the Deputy Director and Head, Press and Public Relations, NAPTIP, Mr. Josiah Emerole, Otubo used the videos as tools to force her victims into prostitution.

Emerole said the girls and many others were tricked and trafficked to Dubai to meet Otubo, who sponsored their trips.

He added after arriving Dubai, they realised they had unwittingly entered into sex slavery, and were expected to have sex with several men to raise $30,000 to pay Otubo.

The money, according to Emerole, was to cover transportation to Dubai, accommodation and feeding paid by Otubo.

It was said that along the line two girls escaped and were assisted back to Nigeria by a Good Samaritan in Dubai.

Emerole said of the manhunt for Otubu: “Otubo, whose date of birth is December 9, 1984 hails from Bomadi town in Delta State. She is 1.65 metres tall and slightly fair in complexion. She was recently jailed in Dubai, UAE, for human trafficking. She was released in July 2017 and is currently at large, hiding somewhere in Nigeria. Her accomplices and recruiters in Nigeria have been arrested by NAPTIP and are currently facing prosecution in court. Anyone with useful information that could lead to her arrest should please contact NAPTIP on the following platforms: 08002255627847 or 07030000203 (toll free lines) or email: info@naptip.gov.ng.”
