According to the prosecutor, a friend of Amina, Hindatu, blew the lid off Amina’s marriage to two men during a bitter quarrel they had in the presence of the suspect’s husband over debt.

“My Lord, anytime, she wants to sleep with one of them, she will tell the other that she will be travelling to either Jibiya or Katsina.

‘Her first husband witnessed their quarrel and thought that Hindatu wanted to damage his wife’s reputation, and chose to sue her for defamation.”

Insisting she meant every word she said, Hindatu, who was present in the court told the judge that she was at the two weddings between her friend and the two men and was willing to present her witnesses.
