WIFE CHARGED TO COURT FOR STEALING HUSBAND’S CAR

An estranged wife, Ngozi Obi  has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing a Sports Utility Van, SUV belonging to her husband, Aloy Chibuzor Obi.

The 29-year-old woman who is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing slammed against her, was docked before Magistrate Abimbola Komolafe.

The Police prosecutor, ASP Iranus Nnamonu, told the court that the defendant and others at large, conspired together to commit the alleged offence at 8p.m., on September 22, 2013, at Agege area of the state.

Nnamonu said the accused stole a Toyota Highlander jeep number plate JJJ 184 AJ, valued N2.8 million, belonging to one Aloy Obi.

He added that the offence committed is punishable under Sections 409 and 285 of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.

However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges. Magistrate Komolafe granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000, with two responsible sureties in like sum and adjourned the matter to May 15 for mention.
