Wema  bank Staff docked over ATM fraud

A 30 years old Wema Bank staff whose work schedule has to do with Automated Teller Machine, ATM, Dayo Omozefe was on Wednesday arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court over alleged N2,77,000‎ fraud.

Charged alongside Omozefe is Okugbesan Femi, 36 a granite supplier.

The duo are facing a four court charge bordering on conspiracy, fraud and stealing preferred against the defendants by the police.

The defendants, who resides at 46, Fagba ‎Daddy Savege street and 10, Litan Anorinniku Street Olorun Shogo Idiagba Abeokuta in Ogun State respectively were docked before Magistrate Mrs. H. A Amos.

The prosecutor Sergeant Oladejo Balogun told the court that the defendants conspired to commit the alleged offences between December 2015 and March 2016.

He said that ‎the defendants and others who are still at large, committed the offence on March 18, 2016 at about 5pm, at Wema Bank headquarters in Lagos.

Balogun said that Omozefe fraudulently credited a Wema Bank account number 0220249678 with the sum of N60,000, with intent to steal the said sum property of Wema Bank Plc.

The prosecutor also said that ‎the duo between December 2015 and March 2016, stole the sum of N217,000, belonging to the bank.
