A freshly minted medical doctor, Urenna Samuel Iroegbu, has lost her life to a fatal car crash, upon completion of the mandatory national service.
Miss Iroegbu had last year finished from Imo State University where she read medicine specialising in optometry.
In the ensuing excitement, the fresh doctor took to her Facebook handle to post, “Through the stressful days🤕 and sleepless nights👩🏽💻👩🏽🏫, persistence and endurance has been my maxim😇….. Finally the pieces of this puzzle have come to make a very interesting endgame👏💣💥…. #doctorofoptometry #optometrist.”
The real end however came last Saturday, two days after her completion of the National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, in Rivers State where she was posted to.
According to multiple reports, the new doctor was returning to her family in Akwa-Ibom when the Toyota Sienna commercial vehicle she boarded was involved in a road crash with an onrushing lorry around Daewoo along Onne Road.
It was said that the sad incident occurred at around 4.00pm during a heavy downpour.
A trailer reportedly broke down on the road causing the Sienna driver to drive against traffic and in the process, a lorry, which had the right of way and ostensibly oblivious of the ill-fated vehicle rammed into it, killing the passengers.
