Property merchant, Engr. Toyin Omotosho has denied report that he slapped a lawyer (name undisclosed) in a dispute at Maplewood Estate in Agege area of Lagos where they both live.
A video, purportedly of Omotosho slapping a man said to be a lawyer and instigating thugs to attack his alleged victim has gone viral.
The incident, which happened on May 1, 2019, was a fallout of a bickering between the engineer and other members of the estate’s Community Development Association.
However, in a statement Omosho released, he denied being the one in the video claiming the clip was photoshopped and an exaggeration of the incident.
He wrote: “The whole matter was outrageously overblown and misdirected by those who posted the malicious story, with my picture surreptiously embossed to give it a plausible outlook especially in this age of social media technological breakthrough where any perceived enemy can be easily maligned and debased.
“It is very absurd and outright demeaning of my person and I am already making moves to get to the bottom of the matter, if these character assassins do not make a rethink by setting the records straight.
“I did not slap anyone for whatever reason and I stand by my word.”
