In July, 2017, late Kolawole was killed by suspected gunmen around Okene in Kogi State on her way to Abuja on official assignment.
About a year into the late Permanent Secretary’s death, her first child, Tolulope, killed himself at his residence in Halleluya Estate in Osogbo leaving behind his wife and a child, Punch reported.
The paper said the deceased aged 32 was pushed to suicide by his failed farming business, and had living on handout from a friend. His precarious living was said to have been giving him angst culminating into hanging himself at the weekend.
“The young man was said to have lamented the lull in the business bequeathed to him by his late mum. He was said to be constantly complaining to one of his friends in Ibadan, Oyo State, and that one kept encouraging him and offering him financial support.
“But he decided to hang himself when he could no longer bear it,” the publication quoted a police source at Dada Estate Police Station where the case was reported before it was transferred to the Osun State Police Command in Osogbo.
