A woman, Mrs. Rotimi Ogunbajo, was allegedly killed in a domestic row with her husband, Taibu Ogunbajo, who is reportedly a traditional ruler in Ise Town, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State.
Report of the incident indicated that the couple’s marriage of three years was fraught with quarrel and fight, which reached a boiling point at the weekend.
It said the couple had no child together, and on that fateful day, Mrs. Ogunbajo stormed her husband’s block moulding factory at Folu in Ibeju Lekki, where she destroyed some of the blocks and attempted to flee.
The woman’s action, according to witness, infuriated her spouse, who witnessed the destruction at first hand, and in fury jumped into his Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) marked AKD666EW to pursue her, and along the line ran over her with the car, and she died on the spot.
The police were immediately called to the scene and they arrested the suspect and took the remains of his wife to Epe General Hospital.
Spokesman of Lagos Police Command, Chike Oti, confirmed the incident and the arrest of the suspect.
Oti said: “Preliminary findings indicate that the couple had a quarrel before the incident. The woman was killed within the suspect’s block industry, which means the man might have been on top speed.
“Investigations would not be limited to fatal motor accident. We will go beyond that to find out the motive for his actions.”
