Jordan, who is South African Football Association’s president, made this known in a statement credited to him by SAFA’s website.
“CAF expressed its determination to explore all scientific and medical solutions that could eradicate the phenomenon of age cheating and to conduct a research that can help to determine the causes of sudden death among footballers, of which majority of the victims are of African origin,” the SAFA’s President stated.
Not few African-born footballers had slumped to death on pitch. Recently, Ivorian footballer Cheick Tiote died during training in China where he plied his trade.
In the past, the likes of Cameroonian Marc Vivien Foe, Gabonese Moise Brou Apanga, Cameroonian Patrick Ekeng, Zambian Chaswe Nsofwa and Nigerian Samuel Okwaraji had passed on in like manner.
