Stray bullet kills Shooting Stars player, Izu Joseph
A stray bullet from gunfire has killed Nigeria Professional Football League club Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan top defender, Izu Joseph in Bayelsa State.
Late Joseph(pictured standing) who until his death played central defence for the Oluyole Warriors was in Bayelsa on holiday following the completion of the 2015/ 2016 NPFL season.
His untimely death was said to have occurred on Sunday, a day after one of his teammates, Adamu Abubakar, turned a year older.
Confirming Late Joseph’s death on its Twitter handle, @official3SC, on Monday the club tweeted, “A Shooting STAR is gone! Izu Joseph is gone! Flamboyant defender is gone! RIP, brother. What a life! May God strengthen his family.”
