Imam, wife, 4 children killed by hoodlums

A 35-year-old Muslim cleric, Sheik Yusuf Amzat-Salam, his wife and four children were killed by hoodlums in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

The deceased, who lived at Atiba area of Odogbolu Local Government Area were killed in the early hours of Tuesday.

Report said their killers butchered the entire household with machete saying the motive behind the killing was not known.

It said the eldest child age was 11, and the youngest was 2, adding that the victims were discovered in the pool of their blood when school bus came to pick the four children.

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), in Ogun, Bimbola Oyeyemi, said investigation is ongoing saying the culprit will be apprehended.
