Senator Ogunewe arrested over N240m fraud

Senator Adeseye Ogunewe, the Pro Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, FUNAAB, is being quizzed at the Iyaganku office of the EFCC, Ibadan, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said.

The anti-graft agency announced that Senator Ogunewe is facing interrogation on its Facebook page on Wednesday.

It said the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP chieftain is being interrogation in respect of an alleged case of abuse of office and misappropriation of funds reported against the University Pro Chancellor(Senator Ogunewe), and the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olusola Oyewole.

It would be recalled that the Vice Chancellor, Professor Oyewole, has been answering questions relating to a petition submitted to the EFCC by a “concerned stakeholders” of the university in which he, Ogunewe, and the school bursar are accused of mismanaging N240m belonging to FUNAAB.
