Senator representing Bayelsa east senatorial district, Ben Murray Bruce said the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has turned Nigeria into a one-party state.
Senator Bruce made this assertion about the political situation in the country while reacting to the ruling of Appeal court in Port Harcourt on Friday, that recognised Ali Modu Sheriff but nullified Senator Ahmed Makarfi as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s, legitimate chairman.
“Right now, what Nigeria has is a one-party state – there is no opposition. Enough is enough. This is the time for PDP to unite, we are a formidable force,” the 60-year-old media guru cum politician said.
Furthermore, he called on Makarfi led-faction to sheath swords, adding that the bickering by party members is childish.
He said, “Concerning the PDP, the current bickering is childish and irrelevant. I am not in support of any more litigation. We will work with Ali Modu Sheriff and go to a convention.”
