Misau had in the past made a string of allegations. The lawmaker had accused the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris of receiving a total sum of N10bn monthly as bribe from individuals and blue chips.
He also alleged the IGP of impregnating a female police officer and marrying her secretly. And at another time, he said that the police chief gifted the First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari two SUVs.
The latest was made on Wednesday by the Senator representing Bauchi Central on the Floor of the Senate while contributing to a motion sponsored by Shuaibu Lau, senator representing Taraba South, on herdsmen attacks in his state.
Misau alleged that the cabal in the presidency made surreptitious move to get the Senate President sacked on resumption when the Senate was in recess on the ground that Saraki was planning to defect to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
His word: “When we were on holiday, so many people were going behind that they should try and remove the senate president. During this holiday, a minister was spearheading that thing,” Misau said.
“What is the reason, they said that the senate president would leave APC, that they should create problems for him (Saraki). What kind of country is this? Everything is about religion, about tribe.”
