Senate President Bukola Saraki has pleaded to ex members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Kwara State, who recently defected to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, after he rejoined the major opposition to retrace their steps.
The defectors had in several interviews traced their defection to Saraki claiming they feared he would hijack the party from them, a claim the Senate President dismissed on Wednesday in Ilorin at a meeting with PDP supporters in the state.
He said, “There was this false claim that I will take over the political structure of the party and chase them away. For those who have waited, they are the testimonies to what I have just said. I want to appeal to those who left to return to PDP and let us build the party to victory in 2019 elections.”
