ROAD SAFETY OFFICER ARRESTED FOR KIDNAPPING

The Imo State Police Command has arrested an officer of Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) for abduction.

The suspect, Cyprian Uduak Sylvester is currently in the custody of the police command in Imo State over his alleged involvement in the kidnap of one Cyril Echesi penultimate week.

Parading the suspect yesterday at the command’s headquarters, the state police Commissioner, AbdulMajid Ali said Sylvester who led other members of his gang in the abduction was arrested following a tip-off.

He explained that Sylvester and his gang abducted their victim at Uli, in Ihiala local government area of Anambra State but were intercepted on their way to Ahoada in Rivers State, with the victim still in their custody, by the Scorpion Squad of the command.

The CP added that the suspects will soon be charged to court.
