Registered voters: Lagos leads Kano


Lagos State has the highest number of registered voters in the country with a total of 6,048,156, according to Independent National Electoral Commission’s statistics as of January 2018.

The statistics show that next to Lagos is Kano State with 5,149,070 voters while Bayesla and FCT have the lowest of voters registered with 754,394 and 952, 815 respectively.

Among the six geopolitical zone, Northwest has the highest with   18,505,984 voters followed by Southwest with 14,626,800 while the South-East is the last rung of the ladder and has 8,293,093 registered voters.

Overall, the statistics have it that, 73,944,312 voters have registered so far, surpassing that of 2015 election which was 68,833,476.

However, less than half of the registered voters, have collected their Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs with Lagos, one of the highest with 1.4 million uncollected voter cards.
