A latest report has raised many questions begging for answers from Senator Dino Melaye, who is enmeshed in certificate forgery.
The report by Saturday Punch further cast doubt on the genuineness of all the certificates the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District is parading after that of Sahara Reporter’s tweets on his first degree certificate.
The paper said it is questionable whether the first degree certificate Melaye has in Geography from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State is genuine going by documents at its disposal.
It said the embattled senator has a Bachelor of Arts certificate in Geography from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State but checks at the university revealed that it only offers B.Sc. Geography and not B.A. Geography as reflected on Melaye’s statement of results.
The report also raised question on how Melaye managed to gain admission into University of Jos for Post-graduate Diploma Study without having his academic transcript from ABU.
It said Melaye graduated with third class and till date has no academic transcript, an official document issued by ABU as a record of all his completed course units and results throughout his enrolment at the university.
The report, which showed some discrepancies on his certificates said, “For instance, in the statement of results, his name was given as “Daniel Jonah MELAYE.”
“…Also, in the senator’s NYSC discharge certificate, which was issued on July 8, 2001, his name read “Melaye Daniel” and not Daniel Jonah as shown in the statement of results.
“Also, in the diploma certificate issued to him by the University of Jos on August 3, 2006, his name read “Daniel Dino Melaye.”
The report revealed that in his Senior School Certificate in 1992, his name read ‘Melaiye Daniel Jonah O.’ with Melaye being wrongly spelt, adding that he had P8 in English Language, P8 in Mathematics, P8 in Geography, P8 in Chemistry, C5 in Christian Religious Knowledge, P7 in Economics, C6 in Biology and B3 in Agric Science.
It said Harvard University denied that Melaye was a graduate of the institution as he only completed a week-long leadership seminar in November 2016. So also, the London School of Economics.
Recall that Melaye claimed that he obtained degrees from Harvard University, London School of Economics, and a post-graduate degree from the University of Jos while denying the allegation of his certificate forgery.
