Students of Government Science School, Lafia, Nasarawa State last Monday went on rampage following the unfortunate incident that happened to one of them, identified as Amos Ovey, who was allegedly crushed to death by Gov. Tanko Al-Makura’s son, Khaleel Al-Makura, the previous day.
Ovey was said to have stepped out of the school hostel at around 8.00pm to buy battery for his lamp due to power outage but was knocked down by a speeding car allegedly driven by the governor’s son.
Reports claimed that the alleged driver was notorious for his high-speed whenever he was behind the wheel, and would have been mobbed to death last Sunday if not that he is Gov. Al-Makura’s son.
Meanwhile the Commissioner for Education in the state, Tijjani Ahmed, has appealed to the students and family of the deceased to remain calm, adding that the governor had already constituted a committee that would meet with the family and begin burial arrangement for the deceased.
Ahmed assured that the suspect, who according to him is in police custody will face the full wrath of the law.
