A good number of staff of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, are fond of watching pornography during office hours, the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku alleged this.
Ahaneku, who expressed concern about the situation said over 40 percent of the school staff spend the better parts of their time at work watching pornographic videos, and other films rather than working, adding that this amount to corrupt practices.
The VC said he caught the staff out through the monitor in his office saying that to stop the act he shut down YouTube from the university’s resource centre.
He said, “This is one reason we shut down YouTube from the university’s resource centre.
“People should be made to be conscientious as well as do what they have been assigned to do and eschew indolence.
“There have been a lot of abuses on facilities that, ordinarily, should aid staff in their jobs and as a result plans s are underway to remove the televisions in central offices.”
