President Mugabe Reportedly Missing

Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe is being reported missing.

The 92 year-old on Monday claimed he was leaving Harare, the Zimbabwe capital for India to attend the World Culture Festival in New Delhi, which kicked off in the Indian capital on Friday but since then, his whereabouts has become something of a mystery, American media, The Week reports.

It was reported that the spokesman of the veteran Zimbabwean leader, who has been in power for 36 years, George Charamba, said Mugabe cancelled his visit to India, citing “substantial inadequacies in protocol and security arrangements” and saying that his principal would return home in “a couple of days.”

The report said that there are strong indications that President Mugabe is not in Zimbabwe, and speculation was rife that he may have travelled to Singapore for medical treatment.

In 2011leaked document by Wikileaks revealed that Mugabe was suffering from prostate cancer.
