People abused me over abduction of Redeemed pastor(s) – Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, said he became a subject of ridicule following the recent abduction of five persons wrongly believed to be all pastors of the church by marauding Fulani herdsmen.

The kidnap victims, who have all breathed the air of freedom were initially rumoured to be pastors of the church until light was thrown on their identities, which revealed that only one of them, Ibeleji Chidinma, a female, is a pastor in the church.

Last Friday at a programme of RCCG, Pastor Adeboye hinted of the mockery hurled at him over the incident with some insinuating that he was not a man of God.

Adeboye said: “People have been taunting me and challenging me that since I hear from God, how come this is happening to your church pastors.

, “I want to say it has been confirmed that only one pastor of the church was kidnapped along with four other people.”

Multiple reports said freed Ibeleji in her testimony at the Redeemed Camp on Saturday, confirmed that their abductors were herdsmen and that she prayed that they fell asleep which was answered and used the opportunity to escape.
