Singer, Paul Play, once again attempted to put to rest speculation that his long absence in the music scene at a time was due to his battle with cancer.

Clearing the air again, the Angel of my life crooner said it was true he had health problem but what was false was that his problem was cancer.

“Although there were false reports that I had cancer, that was never the case as I was diagnosed with a tumour that grew on my kidney. The tumour was so big that it overwhelmed my kidney and rendered it useless to the point that they had to take it out,” he told Punch.

He went on to tell the paper of how Chief Mike Adenuga, owner of telecommunication giant, Globacom, and some of his(paul’s) friends rallied around to help him financially., Paul Play kidney problem

“It was an extensive treatment and people like Dr. Mike Adenuga were there for me; I had friends who rallied around me so I did not have to go to the public to solicit for funds.”
