PASTOR ARRESTED FOR PRINTING FAKE CURRENCY

The Kogi State command of the State Security Service (SSS) at its headquarters in Lokoja on Tuesday paraded a 49 year old reverend pastor, Rev. Pastor Godson O Akubuiro for allegedly printing fake currency.

Also arrested were his children and several others.

SSS’ State Director, Mr Mike Fugbara, told journalists, that the security service in its efforts to uncover those behind the criminal act, undertook four months covert operation and subsequently arrested Pastor Akubuiro who is the General Overseer of the Mountain of Breakthrough Deliverance Ministry, AKA Land of Solution, at his Plot 7, Mountain of Breakthrough Avenue, Koya Estate, Igbo Olomu, Agric, Ikorodu, Lagos State resident at wee hours of Monday.

Fugbara said the Pastor and other 15 gang of suspects including his biological children, were specialists in the printing of fake currencies.

The SSS boss explained that the suspects have made confessional statement and would be prosecuted after the conclusion of command’s investigation.

He warned members of the public to be wary of fake naira notes in circulation and report any suspect to security agencies, vowing that the state security force was prepared to stem the tide of fake currency circulation and other crimes in the country.

Some of the exhibits recovered by the SSS include, photocopier machines, fake naira notes to the tune of 1.3 million, chemicals and different oil paints.

Pastor Akubuiro declared that he was an ordained man of God, until devil pushed him to commit such crime.

He admitted that he had been in the criminal business since November 2012 in his house, along with his family members.
