Ozulubu traditional ruler reveals plan to perform rituals to expose killers of worshippers at St Philip’s Catholic Church

Igwe Nnamdi Oruche, the traditional ruler of Ozubulu, the community in Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra State that gained prominence after gunmen invaded St Philip’s Catholic Church, shooting dead 13 worshippers and injuring 27 others on Sunday, says the traditional institution will deploy gods to smoke perpetrators of the heinous crime out.

“We have an old culture, so our traditional deities will bring them out when the rituals are done by us at the appropriate time.” the monarch(file image) said in an interview.

Meanwhile the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has revealed that the security agencies made some arrests. He made this known to journalists in Abuja on Friday at the national headquarters of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, where he went to submit his governorship nomination form.

Obiano alleged that the target of the killers was a business partner to the person, who hired them adding that when the target was not found, his father was killed instead.

According to him, “We are taking precautions, we have a lead and the police have made some arrests and we are very confident that we will resolve the matter very soon.”
