The self-exoneration of the leadership of the All Progressive Congress, APC, from the gaffes made in the list of boards of federal agencies and parastatals, has drawn the response of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
About eight dead persons were included in the list of the appointees that was recently released by the Secretary to the Federal Government, Mustapha Boss. A gaffe that sparked controversy.
“We have followed the issue of board appointments and I think that issue has raised a lot of controversy already. The only thing I want to add is that it is pretty obvious that the party was not involved in the final stages of the compilation of that list,” the National Chairman of APC, John Oyegun had said.
Reacting to Oyegun’s self-exculpatory comment, PDP said the defence brought to fore the confusion in APC, adding that with the statement the chairman had passed vote of no confidence on Buhari’s administration.
“Is it not ridiculous, cowardly and a clear show of disorganisation in government, for the APC national chairman to try to exonerate his party from the failures and incompetence of a government which the party formed?
“Chief Oyegun’s comments amount to a vote of no confidence in the presidency, but, there is no way he can exonerate the APC, which he leads, from the failures of its own government,”’ PDP’s spokesman, Kola Ologbodiyan told newsmen in Abuja.
