Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo was nearly involved in a fatal crash after the chopper he flew in to attend the graduation of senior Customs officers at Gwagwalada area of Abuja where he was the Guest of Honour, developed fault on its return to Villa.
Osinbajo’s media aide, Laolu Akande, made this known via his twitter handle, @akandeoj.
“VP Osinbajo attended the graduation ceremony of Nigeria Customs Senior Course in Gwagwalada today. On his way back it was decided, for technical reasons, not to fly the chopper that had brought him to the venue. He drove back to the Presidential Villa & continued his schedule,” Akande tweeted.
Osinbajo, according to reports, flew in the said helicopter to the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada, Abuja for the graduation and after the event he was on board returning to Villa when few seconds after taking off the helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing at the venue.
It was said that the VP went back to the Villa by road.
