Edo State governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has called to question the position of the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, as the father of the party in the state.
Obaseki and his predecessor have been having a running battle, the culmination is the current unrest in the State House of Assembly over leadership tussle.
The governor in thinly veiled reference to Oshiomhole on Friday while addressing a gathering of Edo State indigenes in Abuja blamed the ex-governor for the crisis rocking APC in the state saying, “So, if your children are fighting and you cannot come and settle them then what authority do you have to even be a father?”
He said he was also kept in the dark about federal appointments for Edo indigenes.
His word, “I have endured so much as governor. As governor, I have not been able to even nominate somebody for a federal appointment. Meanwhile, federal appointments are made every day, I will sit down they will call me from the Senate. Are you aware of this? I keep quiet; I cannot be governor and not be governor.”
