Afenifere chieftains Pa Ayo Adebanjo has berated the radio silence of the All Progressives Congress leader, Bola Tinubu, on the newly formed Southwest States ‘security outfit, Operation Amotekun.
Amotekun is in a mire of controversy following federal government’s opposition to it, prompting several leaders from the region and across the country to weigh in on the matter.
However, Tinubu’s failure to make known his position on it, has drawn the former Lagos governor opprobrium with Adebanjo viewing his silence as a way to get President Muhammadu Buhari and the North’s supports for his alleged presidential ambition in 2023.
The Afenifere leader said Tinubu was living in fool’s paradise to believe Buhari and the core north would support him.
Adebanjo told Punchng.com: “I have continued to tell him (Tinubu) that they are just deceiving him and he is deceiving himself. Which promise has Buhari made and fulfilled? In 2015, he said he would be a born again democrat but does he even obey court orders?”
