Ooni of Ife , Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi is in the news for controversies surrounding his marriage.
The 41-year-old and Wuraola Zainab Otiti, on Saturday in Benin, the Edo State capital were joined together in holy matrimony. The royal wedding has thrown up plenty of controversies.
Unconfirmed reports say the new Olori changed her name from Sonia Obahan to Wuraola Otiti to conceal her alleged sordid past. It was said that she was once married to former Jigawa governor, Saminu Turaki, and, later former deputy senate majority leader, Abdul Ningi.
It was also claimed that Sonia is legally married to Lebanese billionaire, Eli Khoury, and until recently flaunted him on her social media account.
Reliable palace sources told OrijoReporter that Oba Ogunwusi and his first wife, Adebisi(both pictured right during their wedding at the registry) were long estranged from each other before he became Ooni.
It was said that they patched up after family members prompted them when Oba Ogunmwusi(then prince) became Ooni-designate.
“Oba Ogunwusi and his first/ex-wife were estranged before he became kabiyesi. It was awoon alabosi family that pimped Bukola into olori runs during coronation. They were not even living together,” source explained.
