My parents once threatened to curse me with Quran – Oga Bello
Veteran Nollywood actor Adebayo Salami popularly known as Oga Bello has revealed that his parents once threatened to curse him with Quran if he pursued a career in acting.
Oga Bello disclosed this in an interview he granted New Telegraph where he said he inherited flair for acting from his aged mother.
“At that time, no parents wanted their children to be actors when other children were lawyers, doctors and engineers. My parents did not support it in anyway; it was a tug-of-war. My parents even vowed to curse me with Quran if I acted, but I thank God for today.”
Speaking on how he came into acting, the 64-year-old told the paper, “I am right to say it is hereditary because my mother is a clown; she would be marking 100 years this November. You would hardly be with her without laughing…But my late father was a quiet person.”
