Odegbami confident of winning Ogun guber race

Former International Chief Segun Odegbami, who is in Ogun State governorship race on the platform of Labour Party, has sounded confident of upsetting the applecart.

The former senior national team winger, who is an underdog in the race in an article published online entitled, The Miracle of Dammam – In Nigerian politics, hinted that he would spring surprise at the poll scheduled for March 2.

Odegbami likened what to come in the election to the scenario that played out between the Flying Eagles and USSR in 1989 Junior World Cup in Saudi Arabia where Nigeria rose from the dead after going down 4-0 to beat their opponent.

He wrote in part: “That’s why I am drawn into the politics of Ogun State, because it will all start there. Believe me, the road to Oke Mosan is a mission that will involve and impact the entire Black race and Africa and make Ogun State (and Nigeria, by extension) the epicenter of a new Black consciousness and Civilisation in the world.

“The elements, I am convinced, have taken control. Watch out for the re-enactment of the ‘Miracle of Daman’ in 1989 in the political front in 2019! Mark my words!”
