Lieutenant Colonel Adeboye Obasanjo, son of former president Olusegun Obasanjo was yesterday shot in the leg by the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram at Michika in Adamawa State.
An army engineer at the 3rd Division in Jos, Plateau State, Lieutenant Colonel Adeboye Obasanjo (pictured) and his platoon were ambushed at Bazza.
In the ambush, reports say 24 soldiers were killed with several injured.
It would be recalled that, Boko Haram at the weekend took over Michika one of the key towns in Adamawa state. The militants also seized Gulak three days ago and chased out Nigerian troops and hoisted their flag in the town.
The siege on Gulak, Michika and its environs has caused ripple effects on the commercial border town of Mubi as many have deserted the town with reports that several people crossed over to the neighbouring Cameroon.
Fleeing residents said that the streets of Michika down to Madagali are being patrolled by the insurgents after hoisting their flags.
