The deceased, Mr. Idoko, an engineer with Greater Inspection and Industrial Services at Sango-Otta, Ogun, was said to be a victim of domestic abuse.
Neighbours of the Idokos at their residence in Oto-Awori Local Council of the state made this known to newsmen saying the 32-year-old deceased suffered domestic violence in the hands of his wife and mother of their two children; a three-year-old boy and a one-year-old girl for years.
They claimed Mrs. Idoko’s attack on her husband on Sunday at around 11.00pm was precipitated by jealousy adding that she accused him of infidelity.
It was said that the deceased had just returned from an official assignment in Ikorodu where he was for a week. A phone-call he received, which his spouse believed was from his female friend sent her into a rage and she stabbed him in the leg, sources said.
This newspaper was told that the cry of their son alerted their neighbours to the attack, and they rushed to the scene where they were greeted by blood gushing out from Mr. Idoko’s leg.
He was said to have been rushed to New Ayetoro Medical Centre but all efforts made to salvage the situation were futile as he later died.
But Mrs. Idoko has denied responsibility for her spouse’s death saying she didn’t stab him. She claimed the knife fell on his leg.
