NTEL Telecommunications, the fifth and newest licensed telecom operator in Nigeria, will launch its commercial services this month, CEO of NTEL, Mr. Kamar Abass said on Thursday during a launch with ICT correspondents in Lagos.

NATCOM Development and Investment Limited, which bought over NITEL is now doing business as NTEL.

The company in November will launch international bandwidth services over SAT-3 and a 4G mobile network covering Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.

Acknowledging that there are a lot of pretenders to 4G and most existing operators operate are in the realm of 2G and 3G, Mr. Abass(pictured) said NTEL would give customers better experience.

“We will build a 4G mobile network, and will not use the technology we inherited because it is obsolete. Our own 4G will be bigger than any other in Nigeria, and better than 3Gs, and it will be the best 4G that can compare to any in the world.

“We want to make sure that Nigerians get high quality broadband, which we will give them consistently. Even in 4G where some operate today in the country, we will be yards apart from what they are offering,” the NTEL’s boss explained.

The market may have moved from mobile voice service to data, Mr. Abass said NTEL would offer other services: voice termination and metro bandwidth fixed services adding that building a network in 2015 is not only data but video.

All these services according to Mr. Kamar Abass would be launched on the NTEL 4G LTE mobile service, which offers high speed data, high-definition voice and video.
