Nigerian jailed for life for killing woman over wage

A Nigerian businessman in the UK, Ezeoma Chigozie Obioha, was on Tuesday sentenced to life imprisonment for killing a white woman, Carrie Jean Melvin.

The 32-year-old convict the court heard owed his victim $1,620, her fee for a social media marketing job she did for his clothing line.

He subsequently initiated a romantic relationship with Carrie, which she spurned.

The unimaginable happened to 30-year-old Carrie in Hollywood while walking with her boyfriend to a Thai restaurant. Obioha fired a shotgun blast at her face and killed her.

It all happened on July 5, 2015.
