NFF Crisis: Giwa faction appoints dead referee for Warri Wolves match
Chris Giwa faction of the NFF yesterday goofed after it appointed a deceased referee, late Wale Akin¬sanya (Oyo) to officiate match day 13 Nigeria Pro¬fessional League (NPFL) involving Warri Wolves and Giwa FC scheduled for weekend.
The faction in a letter sent to League Management Company (LMC) ap-pointed late Akin¬sanya, who slumped to death in January while participating in the referee copper test in Abuja.
According to the letter signed by Adama Yahaya, and addressed to the Chief Operating Officer of the LMC, Salihu Abubakar, the deceased will be assisted by the trio of Tope O. (Osun) as AR1and Adeleke M (AR2), while Peter Efozia (Delta) is to serve as reserve referee.
