The Nigeria Immigration Service will on Tuesday release new form of International passports that would be different to the one currently in use.
The Comptroller General of the NIS, Muhammad Babandede disclosed this to officers of the Service in Lagos in preparatory to the release on Saturday.
Babandede explained that there would be a variation in the new passports saying it would contain the National Identification Number of the holders.
He added that the new passports will help bolster the fight against insecurity.
According to him, “Nigeria is headed for one identity for every individual; so, everyone’s identity has to be the same, from the bank to the NIN. It will be significant for our national security and development.
“If we had done this a long time ago, it would have been easy for us to do a whole lot of other things as a nation. So now, it will be no NIN, no passport.”
