Native doctor dies while testing bulletproof charm

A 26-year-old native doctor, Chinaka Adoezuwe, has lost his life in Umuozu Ugiri, in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State in an attempt to prove the efficacy of a bulletproof charm to his client, Punch reported.

Late Adoezuwe was shot dead on Tuesday by one of his customers, Chukwudi Ijezie, who he had prepared a bullet-proof charm for.

According to the paper, the deceased native doctor, who met his death in the line of duty, had worn the charm he prepared for Ijezie and ordered his client to shoot him so as to test the efficacy of the charm claiming it would prevent bullets from penetrating his body.

However, when Ijezie did as he was told, and fired the gun at Adoezuwe the reverse was the case as the bullet penetrated the latter’s body and got him killed.

The report quoted police Public Relations officer in Imo State, Andrew Enwerem, as saying: “The suspect is in our custody; it is a case of murder. The Isiala Mbano division of the command moved in arrested the suspect and returned normalcy to the area.

“The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.”
