A Deputy Superintendent of Police and Chief Armourer with the Kaduna State Police Command, Nambol Audu (pictured) who was paraded with two other of his colleagues on Tuesday after they were caught stealing firearms was yesterday morning found dead in the cell where he was kept.

The suspects allegedly drove into the police armoury at night where they loaded firearms into a private vehicle, which they planned to sell to criminals.

The shocking death of DSP Audu who had been in handcuffs since his arrest on Monday, has raised suspicion of foul play as suicide may have been struck off by police authorities.

Inside sources told orijoReporter that a female police corporal, Mary Emmanuel who was the last person to visit the deceased in his cell before he was found dead at 5.00am the following day has allegedly been arrested.

It was further gathered that the late DSP who hailed from Plateau state was supposed to retire in 2016 before his death while Mary Emmanuel, who is under arrest, has her wedding slated for next week.
