Mrs. Yakubu stated this in an affidavit filed before a Federal High Court in Abuja seeking the release of her husband from EFCC’s detention following his arrest and prosecution over the $9,772,800 and £74,000 recovered from where he kept them in a house in Kaduna last month.

Mrs. Yakubu stated that her husband was diagnosed of a prostrate condition, and was undergoing medical treatment in the UK but had to suspend it when the EFCC’s invited him.

She added that her husband whom she described as her family breadwinner needs to resume his medical treatment, explaining his health  condition may grow worse and lead to his death.

She said, “I have consistently appealed to men and officers of the first respondent (EFCC) for the release of my husband because he is in excruciating pains and stands the risk of losing his life.”
